Turning H2O Into Hydrogen To Run Your Motor Vehicle - A Simple Primer

By: Jay Edwards

The media is bombarded with the same old take by big auto and big oil companies into hydrogen as non-polluting transportation combustible fuel.

With a little more digging or research and you soon find out about fascinating technologies out there that also use hydrogen as automobile fuel. These technologies are not mainstream but rather the world of innovative research and development companies and, sometimes, independent inventors.

The one thing that most of these alternative technologies share is that the hydrogen as motor vehicle fuel is generated as needed, or what is often called "on-demand"..

The energy comes from a device mounted in the automobile that produces hydrogen as it is used doing away with the need for tanks of hydrogen. The fuel for producing the hydrogen is water, plain old water.

You may have already noticed that this takes care of the two main problems of the mainstream research and development.

When hydrogen is on-demand there are no bulky tanks of pressurized hydrogen gas. The only addition to a vehicle is a set up that generates the hydrogen and feeds fuel to the motor's carburetor system.

The energy to produce energy is cheap and environmentally friendly. It is an on board device that uses water. Water, of course, is cheap and plentiful And the electric current is created by the electrical system. Hydrogen is totally clean by oxidizing to create water.
